Jody Florez

CHICAGO HEIGHTS—Jody Florez, 57, of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL.
Born March 3, 1966 in Chicago Heights, Jody Marie was a daughter of Jose (the late Barbara) Castaneda, of Lecanto, FL and the late Peggy (Warren) Zych. She was raised in Chicago Heights and worked as a waitress at various restaurants throughout the years. Jody founded a Spiritual Group on Facebook called Live Tarot Readings with Jada and Friends, reaching over 10,000 followers on both Facebook and TikTok.
Jody will be most remembered for her close relationship with her daughters and granddaughters who will miss her dearly.
Survivors include her father, Jose; three children: Jessica (Elijah) D’Andrea, of Lecanto; Sarah Hendron, of Grant Park and Alicia Florez, of Wilmington; nine grandchildren: Alyssa, Mariah, Cameron, Jocelyn, Aria, Kelsey, Kaydence, Dalton and Jayden, and one great-grandchild, Jasper.
Jody was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Zych; brother, Leroy McConathy and sister, Debi Gantner.
Per Jody’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded, and a private family celebration of her life was held.
