Unit 1 schedules back to school, orientation events

Student orientation days and Back-to-School events have been scheduled as the Coal City School District draws closer to the start of a new academic year,
Orientation events will be held on Monday, Aug. 5 at Coal City Middle, Intermediate and Elementary Schools.
Coal City Middle School’s WEB leaders will welcome sixth grade students with last names beginning with A-L from 8-9:30 a.m. and students with last names starting with M-Z will attend from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Students should enter at Door 8 [gym] and be dropped off 5-10 minutes prior to their scheduled orientation session.
Coal City Intermediate School will welcome fourth graders and new students at 9 a.m., and the Elementary School will host new students at 10 a.m.
The incoming freshmen class at Coal City High School will have orientation day on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. On Thursday, Aug. 9, all high school students [parents/guardians, as well] are invited to stop in between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to walk their schedule and put items in their lockers.
Students will be welcomed to their buildings and have an opportunity to meet their teachers at Back-to School Nights starting on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
Early Childhood Center will be open from 3:30-5 p.m., Elementary School from 4:45-6:15 p.m. and Intermediate School from 6-7:30 p.m. Coal City Middle School will host its Back-to-School Night on Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 6-7:30 p.m.
The first day of student attendance is Wednesday, Aug. 14.
