Wildcats claim fifth at I-8 tourney
The Wilmington golf team traveled to Wolf Creek on Monday to compete in the Interstate Eight Conference Tournament.
The Wildcats wound up placing fifth overall with a team total of 378.
Streator took the top spot with a 330, while Coal City (370) and Westmont (370) rounded out the top three teams.
Ryan Woodall wound up tied for fifth place as an individual, while Garrett Roth tied for 10th place.
Woodall shot an 84 as an individual, as Roth followed with a 90.
Tyler Long also had a good 18 holes, finishing in the top half of the scoring bracket with a 99.
Earlier in the week, the Wildcats competed against Dwight and Momence in a triangular meet, where they went 1-1 on the night.
Wilmington (6-12 overall) finished with a team score of 202, earning second, as they finished behind Dwight (180), but ahead of Momence (240).
Woodall was the low scorer with a 46, while Long followed with a 48.
