The warm weather may be playing a game of hide and seek this week, but summer will be here soon enough. With schools letting out by the end of the month and balmy temperatures on the way, it’s also the time of year when petty crimes start to increase.
Locally, vehicles and garages tend to be the most common victims of thieves as the weather warms up. But it’s a crime that’s easy to prevent.
“Lock your car doors, keep no valuables inside your car, when possible put your car in the garage,” said Braidwood Police Chief Nick Ficarello.
