Enrollment begins for Little Comets preschool

STAFF REPORT

The Reed-Custer Child Development class hosts a preschool for area children age 3-4. The preschool allows the high school students a chance to plan activities for and interact with children in the age group they have been learning about.

The experience allows the preschool children a chance to interact with children their own age while engaging in age appropriate, educational activities.

The class allows for parents to have a few hours of free time each week. This is a great experience for all who are involved.

The preschool week consists of story time, physical play, art activity, music and movement, dramatic play, writing, science and math activities. Children should come dressed in comfortable play clothes as all activities are hands-on fun.

Each week's activities are based around a central theme. A list of the themes will be handed out during orientation day.

The preschool will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:35 to 11:10 a.m. in room 600 at Reed-Custer High School September through May.  There will be no school the week of March 27 due to spring break.

Children must be toilet trained.

There is a $40 semester fee for each child attending and space is limited to 12 preschool students. It will be filled on a first-come basis. If more than 12 students are interested, a waiting list will be started. If you would like your child to participate in the preschool, complete the information form found in the office of Reed-Custer High School and return it to RCHS c/o Katelin Caddell, or email to katelin.caddell@re255.net.
