The Braidwood Lions Club received a generous donation from Whitmore Ace Hardware during its monthly club meeting held on Sept. 27.

During the month of July, Whitmore Ace Hardware   in  Braidwood  held a “Round Up” fundraiser in which their customers could choose to round up the total of their bill to the nearest whole dollar, with the difference benefiting the Braidwood Lions Club.

Braidwood store manager Khrista Mitchell-Boyd presented the club with a check for $1,558.13.

“We can’t thank Whitmore Ace Hardware, their employees and their loyal customers enough for their generosity and continued support of our club’s mission and activities,” said club President Lion Scott Howard.  “We are very fortunate to have such a supportive business right here in our home town.”

The club plans to put the donation to good use as they prepare to purchase new playground equipment for the Lions’ Kiddie Park on Lincoln Street in Braidwood.
